A YUV cable is also called “colour difference“ cable and contains three separate unbalanced 75 Ω lines. It is mainly used for connections in video technology (e.g. on
“progressive scan projectors“) and to connect the DVD player. For transmissions in the HDTV format we recommend our special-designed SC-VECTOR cable. To obtain a perfect image signal a transmission distance of 20 m should not be exceeded. However, if this is inevitable, we recommend selecting the TRANSIT 3 version from the “Cable Bulkware“ section. With it transmission distances of 50 m and beyond are no longer a problem.
We supply three different types of YUV cables:
The choice is yours between the HICON basic variant, the highly fl exible TRANSIT MINI FLEX round cable with gold-plated, POM-insulated HICON HICM06 RCA connectors and the fl at SC-ALTERA SPLIT version with gold-plated, PTFE-insulated HICON HI-CM12 crimp RCA connectors with sleeve support. The latter is especially well-suited for YUV applications, because a crimp connection will always guarantee lower contact resistances as opposed to a solder connection, i.e. losses at the junction between cable and connector are virtually impossible.
